Very friendly people and there are so many activists there if you wanna get to know more about this city. The hostel was great!

Great first time at a hostel. All of the guys (and girl) in charge of the hostel management were great. My flight arrived later than it was supposed to and, although it wasn't his duty, Jose wait up for me to register and gave all the details of the place and some very useful tips. I had the chance to talk a little with Eri, Jose and Chadwick at different times (New Year ’s Eve afterhours Chinese meal, brunch and breakfast), and I found very nice, interesting and well-informed people in them.

All staff here are very friendly and welcoming and that makes even their guests kind and openminded. If you don't mind staying in a hostel, this is the perfect place in SF :) I have no hesitation to recommend.

My first time at a hostel and it was a great stay. Staff were super helpful amd the rooms and bathrooms were all clean. Would be staying here again next time I'm back in the city.

Darren & Friends were some of the most affable, welcoming hostel proprietors I've ever met. Check in and out was pain free, the rooms were quiet and comfortable, the linens cozy, and the showers some of the most beautiful, light-filled spaces I've ever seen (including nice hotels!). The location is right between Chinatown and the Commercial District with easy access via public transit to North Beach, SOMA, Embarcadero, etc.

First of all, I stayed here regularly as I'm in San Francisco very often. I used to stay at some other hostels but now if I must stay in the city more than a week, I will definitely stay here at Pacific Tradewinds. I know and have met so many friends here from all over the world including the staff (past & present). they are family, my family, our family. Chadwick: thank you for your leadership, everyone seems to enjoy their job.
