Great hostel, probably the best of the 5 I stayed in while travelling North America. Fantastically knowledgeable staff who also made it feel more like staying with friends than in a hostel. Highly recommended.
This place is wonderful in that the staff is exceptionally helpful, friendly and knowledgable. Having been around the world and visited many hostels, it's always refreshing to find a hostel that knows how to make the atmosphere desired by travelers, neither too rowdy nor too sedate, but just the right mix. Very cool hostel, friendly and helpful staff and great common room to meet other travellers. Centrally located, with Chinatown on the doorstep and stones throw away from public transport. Would definitely stay here again if I return to SF.
this place is super nice and especially for the money. you can't really beat it
auberge super bien placé, très proche de chinatown et du quartier italien, 10 min a pied de market street, 20 min de la location de vélo pontont 41 (pier 41) et du bateau à prendre pr alcatraz pontont 33,en vélo à 3/4 heure de golden gate bridge, à voir aussi plus loin par le train ou en voiture, le golden gate park ( 2 fois la taille de central park ), le quartier "gay" nommé "castro" très sympa avc ses bars!
Pacific Tradewinds was one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. Sure, it isn't as big as other hostels, but its smaller size allows the staff to interact with you on a more personal level (they remember your names!), and give you excellent service.
The common room is a great place to hang out and meet people. And the entire hostel is cleaned every day. It doesn't get better than this. Totally recommended.
