I had a terrific two-night stay at Pacific Tradewinds Hostel. Their location in Chinatown is awesome, an easy walk from the piers after catching a ferry back from Sausalito. Their facilities are clean, their employees are friendly, and they offer the small perks that make hostel living easy and interesting. They provide storage (bring your own lock to avoid buying one) and they have a ton of showers and bathrooms.

This is a great place for a quick or extended stay in SF. Great accessibility to the city, and they provide everything you could need! I highly recommend this place for anyone traveling on a budget.

Such an awesome, welcoming, fun and friendly hostel. Great homely feel, fantastic social environment with daily events. Highly recommend!

This is a really well located place at an excellent price. Beyond that the hospitality is amazing. There are a lot of small touches that make life so much easier from free ear buds for a quiet sleep to free bread and peanut butter all day for a quick bite.
