Friendly place with affordable rates, in a convenient area. Even scheduled a shuttle for me when my flight was at an odd time.

I loved everything about Pacific Tradewinds Hostel. The location, the free food, the rooms, the cleanliness, but most of all I loved the people. The staff were so friendly and did everything they could to make sure that each and every guest had an amazing experience. If you are looking at Hostels in San Francisco, choose this one! I made so many new friends (staff and travellers alike), and had one of the best times of my life. You won't regret it!
This was my first international trip alone, and I feel so lucky to have met such friendly people at Pacific Tradewinds - both staff and other guests. The hostel has everything you need, from comfortable beds, showers with excellent pressure, to a well-appointmented kitchen (and can't forget the pb&j and ramen!) The location is also great in terms of transit access and being close to North Beach, Little Italy and Chinatown.
This was a great experience, the hostel is clean and well-organized. Staff is super friendly. Location is excellent too. I got the top bunk bed and can’t climb like I used to but if you request it ahead of time they can accommodate the lower bed. They also offer activities which is fun. They had a fondue dinner during my stay and it was lovely. The pb&j sandwiches are for real and is brilliant!
It was my first experience at a hostel. The staff were all super friendly, funny, and interesting to get to know. The building fosters a great sense of community and you can leave with a new friend or two. I will stay here again if I'm ever back in the SF area again!
