If you are looking for an affordable place to stay in SF's financial district (which is super-expensive), this would be it. I spent a pleasant 3 nights at the hostel. The guys make sure that their guests feel comfortable, and most of them, like Zeke, love traveling themselves. Plus, they hold events every day like dining at nearby restaurants and bars. This is a great way to get a local flavor. 5 stars for their hospitality! :)

The location is awesome! You can walk to most of the attractions on foot! The staff are super friendly. They are more then willing to help you navigate the city. It feels more like a community than a hostel :)
Nice hole in the wall relaxing spot. Good storage, good location, easy to miss if you are driving however. Got all the amenities that you need to survive comfortably. Met some really chill people here. When I get road rage or just in a bad mood in general, I think of staying at the Pacific Trade Winds and I feel a lot better :). I would recommend this place to someone who is traveling alone and not afraid to meet other people.
Darren & Friends was my first experience staying at a hostel and because of how great my experience was, I know it won't be my last. Great service and great people made for an unforgettable trip to San Fran that left me yearning to go back. Totally would stay here again!

I had a great time at the hostel, the staff is really friendly and it's easy to make friends and enjoy while you rest there after a day of traveling. I do recommend to any solo traveler to stay here!
The place is really clean, it's in a great location, there are cool events that happen every night, and it's lively.
