I had a great time at the International Hacker Hostel. It was amazingly convenient. Only 4 blocks to the conference I was attending in downtown SF at the Palace. It was 1 block away from China Town and great food. It was always nice to come home to other friendly faces and great travel conversations. I felt very safe and comfortable leaving my stuff there all day long. I especially liked the RockIT lab (seperate building next door) with computers, copiers & 3D printers available 24/7 for just $10 more per night.

First time in a hostel and the experience was positive. They are very organized and take care and helpful during your stay. Would use again for another short stay in the future.

Wonderful place to stay right in the middle of everything. Very friendly and helpful staff and the place really "forces" you into communcating with other guests! I got lucky and was given a bed in one of the rooms with real doors, but the whole hostel is really made from a travellers point of view. You've got perfect internet access, enough places to recharge your phone and laptop, great organization for the kitchen and staff will help you carrying your suitcase up to the forth floor. I really recommend this place!!!!!!

Fun, friendly and functional space to spend some time, meet some cool people and explore San Francisco. It is set up with everything you need for a comfy stay, no complaints, I'm missing it already and I only just left!!!

I stayed at the hostel for 2 nights and I am very happy to have chosen it! The location is very central the street is calm, walking distance to the most of the tourist locations and good connections of public transport. The hostel itself is wery nice, cozy, people are helpful and friendly. I had a very good sleep there and other dorm hosts were polite and calm. Thank you for a very good stay!

[Five-Star Rating] that's a perfect place for young (and not that young) travellers to spend time in a good company of a perfect staff members and other visitors. Cozy, always crowded hall and really big, nice kitchen with all possible kitchenware, clean and nice smelling bathroom. All that will make you fall in love with this place. Moreover it is situated in a close position to good restaurants, chinatown, citycenter, Ferry building and Wharf. That's the best place to stay d in San Francisco.

What a perfect experience! This is definitely a FRIENDLY hostel. It was almost impossible to come and go without having a conversation about what you are up to, where have you travelled. My interest was opera, and all these youngsters were even interested in that! House rules call for "quiet time" between midnight and 8AM--there was never a problem with that. Rooms are clean. Bathroom/showers are clean. Kitchen/community areas are cleaned every day. There is always friendly staff on hand. The location is great.

San Francisco just wouldn't be the same without my experience at the Friendly Hostel. I hope they will continue to have me back year after year.

Overall I had a great stay and I'm not sure my fantastic San Fran experience would have been quite the same had I stayed anywhere else!
