the best staff and beds i've encountered travelling, bar none

kind and helpful staff, made us feel at home. the kind of hostel you go to if you want to meet people and hang out with them. on the other hand, it's really quiet after midnight and in the morning. location is wonderful for exploring downtown, the building is tiny and cosy. rooms and restrooms are basic but well maintaned and comfortable. would (will) definitely stay at pacific tradewinds again.

The staff here make this place a home away from home. If you come to San Francisco, this is where you want to stay. What a great representation of such a loving and artistic city.

Staff were really friendly and beds were great as the beds did not squeak :)

Located in the centre of San Francisco great place and most places are within walking distance - otherwise there is the bus or tram or underground subway.

You were truly perfect and it was the Best hostel I have seen so far - amazing atmosphere, clean, friendly and everything perfect !

I would recommend the pacific tradewinds to any backpacker travelling to San Francisco. I spent 4 nights with them in mid September. The staff are really helpful and the vibe in the hostel is excellent.

I'm 53. Over several decades, I've seen dozens of youth hostels in the world, and this is top of the class, esp. for a inner city hostel in the US.

It's not a party place though. It's a quiet, nice place to call home for a few days !

Cool Hostel, good location. I would advise it to anyone.
