Can't fault this hostel in any way. Great staff (crazy, but in a good way!), great location, really secure and extremely clean too. On Thanksgiving they also organised a Thanksgiving dinner for the guests and I ate sooo much - the best feed I've had in ages - Thanks guys!

This is the hostel to stay in if you want to meet lots of friendly intelligent young people. There is a fantastic common room, with a proper kitchen if you want to cook, free computers, and amazingly friendly staff that make the effort to know your name, and go out of their way to make sure you meet people and have fun in San Fran. Bunks that don't wobble; with lockers for your pack; super clean and new bathrooms: it was great.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful, would love to come back.
Brilliant!! The staff were awesome, and it really made the place. So friendly, it felt like I was just staying in a big share house with a heap of friends. It was a smaller hostel, so very homely, and very clean. They made it such a nice home for 5 days that I didn't want t leave!
The staff was absolutely amazing. Their social abilities and the tone of the hostel set the stage for a week of networking that is unparalleled in any other time in my life. I was able to complete so much that week. I can't thank them enough for their hospitality. Truly, Pacific Tradewinds is a hostel fit for Odin or Zeus.
If I ever travel to San Francisco again I will definatly come back to experiance this hostel again. The only bad thing that makes it a good thing is that its a little difficult to find but the reason is that they just do not want anyone staying at this hostel pure just travelers. I loved this place from the moment I checked in where they had a cup of water waiting for me as I walked up the 5 flight of stairs to the walk to the front door to say good bye. The location couldn't be any better. It is right smack dap in a great spot of SF.
Great hostel, nicely located at the edge of Chinatown, and within walking distance of the Bart.
Great staff, they organise nights out and the atmosphere is great.

If you are planning to visit San Fran, there is no better location than the tradewinds. In the heart of the bay, the hostel has an excellent location on the edge of china town and within walking distance of fisherman’s wharf. As a single traveller this was the friendliest hostel I visited in America, the staff are not only accommodating but also extremely friendly and good fun. A really great hostel.
