awesome hostel; great people, company, location

awesome base in SF

Fantastic small and cozy hostel. It was really easy to meet other guests. I'm a female solo traveler and Dave and the other staff did a great job making me feel safe and welcome.

Great hostel!!!, friendly staff, everything is perfect so far!

This is only the third hostel I've stayed at and easily my favorite. Dave the manager and the staff really care about the folks who stay here and want them to have a great time. The hostel is in a great location, near China Town, North Beach, and the Financial District. It's also 1 block from the Cable Cars, a great way to experience San Fran.

As my first time staying at a backpacker, PTW has set a pretty high bar for which others will have to try and meet. The staff were excellent- courteous, helpful, and professional whilst never seeming too distant or removed.

I really enjoyed my stay and am sure I will be back again later in the spring.

Absolutely, the best hostel ever!!!!! If you're looking to get a real travelers experience, at low cost, do yourself a favor and check in to Pacific Tradewinds. The staff is amazing, genuinely good trustworthy people that know how to show travelers a good time. This hostel is now my home away from home, and I mean that sincerely.

I think it is wonderful here. The staff are friendly and helpful. I am having a good time. I am very happy I came.

That was my fist time at a Hostel and a very good experience. Nice place to stay in SF. Cool people and night activits, like bar and karaoke.

I really enjoyed my time here. Staff put a big emphasis on meeting and socializing with other travelers and as such you are guaranteed to have a great time and meet some awesome people.

Great hostel choice! Very welcoming and fun staff. Perfect hostel to stay at if you are looking to be apart of a community while traveling. I would highly recommend it! :)
