Pacific Tradewinds was the cleanest hostel and most conducive to being social that I've stayed at. I was impressed with the security (EVERYBODY must be buzzed in or have a key and lockers are available for backpacks.) Also, the staff was helpful and friendly. I wish I'd spent more time in San Francisco as much for the hostel as for the city itself.
I think it is a good place to stay and very nice to meet new people.

This is a fantastic hostel. From the moment you get there you will feel like part of a big happy family.
The staff at this hostel are brilliant! They are always ready to help their guests and are running a clean, safe professional and not to mention welcoming hostel for all.
This hostel was sooo clean, and the staff were great. It wasn't much of a party-spirited place, but that's fine with me, and we might have just caught the wrong day.

Great place to stay, ended up staying in SF a lot longer than previously planned but well worth it.
