Enjoyed staying here. Nice open plan space and cosy beds. Great location. Great place.. central to lots of things to see and do. With some great restaurants and coffee shops nearby!
It isn't an isolated 5 star hotel with room service, but for a backpacker it is way better than that. The team is nice and very helpful and will try everything to help you out or squeeze you in. The other guests are nice as well and will share ideas what to see and where to go or may even tag along if you wish not to explore it on your own. The rooms are clean, every floor has it's own bathrooms and toilets as well as the locker below the bed should have space enough for all your luggage. The location is not to bad neither close to China Town and the ferry terminal.
The house and the whole staff, even other guests were very kind. They helped me everything I needed. And location is near the Chinatown, where is still safe in late night and near Union Square and Financial District. Looks like the location is right in the middle of the downtown, so you can go almost everywhere in 30m. Neighborhood was very quite, which was quite good option in the night. I've been to many hostels when I was in Europe but This hostel is one of the best I've ever been. Just enough number of guests, nice mood.

This is a small, wonderful hostel with a good location. The staff is super friendly and helpful. All in all a good place to stay.
Hostel was conveniently located to attractions and public transit. Staff were friendly and so were most of the guests. I would recommend this hostel for any short term stay in the Bay area.
Pacific Tradewinds is a great small hostel. It was super relaxed and a great place to stay.
I stayed at the hostel for 2 nights, my first time in San Francisco. The Financial District and the surrounding areas are rich in terms of opportunities for fun, restaurants, pubs, public transportation and probably anything that the typical traveler would need. The staff is really - really! - cool: they are more than happy to help people getting around, offering great suggestions for many different places and activities. The atmosphere is really relaxed and easy: I met a lot of new friends, coming from all over the world.
I was staying for a night. I am happy for my choice. The staff is funny and ready to help. The beds are metallic and very strong. There are personal locks under the beds. Next time I will stay at this place as well.
I am not a seasoned hostel-goer, but I thought this one was really nice. The facilities were clean, lots of outlets for charging electronics, quiet hours enforced after midnight, comfortable and bright common area. The location is good as it's a short walk from Market St, and from there you can find public transportation to most places you'd want to go. The staff was friendly and warm right off the bat, and there was just a really nice vibe to the whole place. It was definitely a very social environment.
