The hostel was clean, everyone there was super friendly and inviting, and the computers were free and for everyone to use. In a very convenient area and the security was strict, which was great.
Disclaimer: this was my first Airbnb experience as well as my first hostel experience. With that being said, stay here. It was exactly what I think you'd hope for a hostel experience to be. Nice folks. Beds. Good price. 10/10 will stay again.
We had a great time staying at the hostel! The staff were super friendly and the place was clean and homely. Great central location too - short walk down to the ferry building for a morning coffee at blue bottle and easy bart/muni ride to mission, haight, golden gate park etc.
I have stayed at quite a few hostels, and this was by far the best. Everyone in the staff is so lovely and you will become instant friends with them; and for some reason, everyone single person who I've met during my two week stay int he hostel have been really genuine, laid back, and super friendly. The atmosphere and layout of the place is great, and really has a way of bringing people together to hangout in the common room (they two nice computers, too).
Great hostel experience! As promised, quiet hours at 12:00, and casual, fun, social times until then. I had a pretty tight schedule, but if I'd had another day I'd have had no problems planning an awesome day with travellers from the hostel and advice from the very friendly staff. Showers and kitchen were clean. Lots of towels and bedding. Lockers and $5 locks. Snacks for sale. No problems.
Really great atmosphere and nice people
I spent 7 days in San Fran here at this hostel and had a great time. Ryan greeted me with enthusiasm and gave me a map right from the get go telling me as much as he could in a short space of time. The hostel is small but that makes it easier to meet other other people I find, the people who came and went were generally friendly and I have been able to keep in touch with a few of them. A few of the staff like a drink and will offer you to go to a nearby bar with them.
thank you very much, Courtney - great staff! comfy beds, superb location! I had a short but wonderful time with fellow travellers, it takes about 30-60 minutes to get there from SFO (using Bart). Please note that it might not be possible to check-in after midnight.

I LOVED staying at Pacific Tradewinds, I've been there twice in the last year and won't stay anywhere else when I'm in San Fran. The staff are the best, and the other guests are always very interesting. Much love and hopefully see you all again soon!
