Friendly people, very clean hostel, organized, very well located, great management! This group of friends will try to make you feel at home. Courtney is the best!, it is a shame i could not spend more time there.
I miss you guys everyday. Really made the most amazing friends, and I can't wait to come back!! I had been feeling pretty lonely in San Francisco while I was there, but as soon as I got to Pacific Tradewinds I really did feel at home :) Will never forget you guys.
This hostel is amazing. The people who run it are lovely and kind and will help you with anything. It's hubub of activity and a real mix of people and cultures. On the edge of Chinatown and North Beach. So follow in the footsteps of Kerouac and Ginsberg and dig those San Francisco hills and end up meeting and sharing your experience in this amazing city with some amazing people.
Amazing location. Was right next to everything in San Francisco. The vibe was amazing too! It seemed like the hostel was designed for everybody to connect because the common room was buzzing with conversation and beautiful people.
I stayed there for 10 days. Comfortable beds, decent storage space, great atmosphere, and extremely friendly staff (Courtney you're a star!).
I arrived in the evening, and the next morning was already on my way sightseeing with 3 new friends!

I stayed here twice on a several month long journey across north america. As a solo traveller I was looking for comfort as well as a bit of camaraderie. I found both in spades at the Pacific Tradewinds hostel. This review could be entered on the great local knowledge of the staff (they pointed me to an amazing restaurant when i showed up tired and hungry after a 36 hour train ride) it could also be centred on the cleanliness and comfort of the hostel. The real hidden gem of this place though is the community that it fosters.
I stayed here for a week and it was incredible. This is the perfect hostel to go if you're traveling alone and want to meet new people backpacking around the world.
The place feels like a friend's house with more friends staying over. It feels like home. I made friends over here.
I stayed here for 2 weeks in the summer of 2014 and couldn't have been happier with the place - I had been travelling for 7 months and was a bit lonely, and the people and staff here couldn't have been nicer. You can really make yourself at home and feel relaxed in the middle of the city, and have plenty of people to talk to or head out with.
The location is great, right next to chinatown and walking distance to a lot of awesome areas in SF.

I stayed at Pacific Tradewinds for three nights over spring break. I had a great time! The hostel was fun, comfortable, and clean. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the other guests I met were great too. Overall it was a fun and comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend it!
I've stayed for nine days during January and I've been to many hostels in many cities during the past few years, but this was the best one by far. Great accommodations, great location (near every public transportation and just a few blocks from chinatown and little Italy) and the best staff. I'm recommending it to all my friends for sure!
