Pacific Tradewinds Hostel - A great place for your first times... I am very new to the traveling set, and prior to discovering Pacific Tradewinds Hostel, had never heard of such a thing. These fine people not only made it easy for me, they had a facility that was clean, well groomed, and very accommodating to say the least. The location was superb. Walking distance to San Francisco Bay, China Town, Little Italy, and transit right on the front porch. Any style of cuisine within 4 city blocks. They had a great kitchen, showers, and beds. A common area where we all socialized, and they were partnered with several places in the area for bike trips, nightlife, etc. If you're traveling on your own, I wouldn't stay anywhere else. You'd be missing out. Room Tip: Mostly all co-ed. Kept very tidy. They took a great deal of pride in the upkeep of the place.
