For my first time staying at a hostel, I believe Pacific Tradewinds Hostel did a fantastic job of welcoming guests as if you’re a housemate than a Airbnb or hotel guests. At first I was looking for the location and it’s hidden near a restaurant which at first I thought it was sketchy, granted that I was traveling at night to get to the hostel. But when I showed up, I was greeted with “hello” and “feel free to use anything you need from the kitchen, we even have a free PB and J sandwich you can make!” Oh man, I felt comfortable speaking with the other guests as they had game night when I showed up. I also appreciate the fact that you have lockers and they still accommodate your luggage in case you can’t fit anymore. It’s a co living space but it’s expected and guests do respect the rules in the hostel to better the experience of staying. I highly recommend it for backpackers and travelers, in my case..it was a nice welcoming transition to San Francisco. Thanks everyone in the staff and I hope to see them again one day ^_^
