Very small and friendly hostel. Location was great, rooms were clean there was storage and power outlets for charging phones etc. It had a buzzer for entry which felt very secure. The staff were very nice.

Cons: I start with the cons because of how little cons there were. The hostel is a bit small so about 8 bunks in one room. Also its on the fourth floor of the building so prepare for leg day. Pros: The staff and the people were great. They have a live in staff that is super friendly and because the hostel is smaller compared to others it leads to a lot more interaction and conversation. The bunk beds were great. Solid metal frames so they don't shake or make a lot of noise when someone is getting on or off. Free PB and J sandwiches.

Stayed for 7 days. The place was very clean, the bed was a lot more comfortable than I expected, and the staff were very friendly. Met some really cool people during my stay! The location is pretty awesome as well. Transit is close by but I highly recommend walking around and exploring. A nice 20 minute walk north will take you to the Fisherman's Wharf area and from there, you'll find even more things to go to. Definitely recommend staying at Pacific Tradewinds Hostel

This was my first time staying in a hostel, and I can say that from the minute I walked through the door I felt welcome and comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful and the overall atmosphere was chill and enjoyable. I recommend, especially if it will be your first time in a hostel type setup.

For this being my first hostel it was an awesome experience. The best part was meeting interesting people. I was able to also talk real estate with nabil. I highly recommended it if you are going on a solo trip. Thanks again to the hosts.

Staying at Darren & Friends was my first time at a hostel. They were friendly and even called to check in on me two hours before the front desk closed (I had a late flight) and gave me directions from the BART station even though it is listed on their page. If you're visiting San Francisco, you should stay at Darren & Friends.

Regardless of age, we're all in the same fraternity, Lima2Theta (Love to Travel). Because travelers love new experiences, love meeting and sharing with new people. And unafraid to venture. My experience at Pacific Tradewinds embodied just that. I was invited to SF by Drone Deploy, a great company whose software I use for mapping with drones. Everyone there was interested in what I did as much as I was interested in them, where they were from and where there sorties were taking them. Great friendly hosts, clean bathrooms, secure, great location and a warm comfortable bed.

Great place, great people, had tons of fun, a total bang for the buck. I stay there 7 days, and were amazing, Also i didn't know what time i was arriving, so i send them a message and they wait for me one hour more after the close just to check me in, they're really nice people.
