There are lots of fun little bars near our hostel but one of our favorites also happens to be the oldest bar in all of San Francisco, going all the way back to the 1860s. It’s called The Saloon, and it has enough character to (almost) make you never want to head to a flashy place again. The music is always tops. The whiskey is always flowing. And the vibe is never pretentious. In fact, this place is about as divey as it gets. You know, a dive bar before hipsters decided dive bars were cool and made them boring again. It’s a true local hangout, and a great place to meet some wonderful people who have lived in SF a very long time. It’s tiny, it kind of smells, the bathroom is weird, and we can’t get enough of it. One of the best parts is dancing all night right next to the storied musicians, so come join us for a night of getting down. Meet Lila at the hostel at 9:30pm.
