We have the best location in San Francisco. We're in a quiet street in downtown San Francisco between the Financial District, Chinatown and North Beach (Little Italy) and there are plenty of good restaurants and places to go out close by. There's also great public transport links all around us so you can easily get pretty much anywhere in the city you want to go. The housemates that live here are comfortable going outside at night alone – but, of course, this is a large city so always keep your 'street smarts' about you. When you get here, we'll give you a map and point out the places where you need to be a little more careful at night. Like any city there are people who will have less than good intentions, but for the most part you'll find San Francisco residents are really friendly and good to talk to. All our volunteers here at the hostel have lived here for a little while, so they'll be able to help if you have any questions about areas you're planning to visit.
