If you’ve never experienced the Castro Theater, a visit alone is a treat in itself. It’s a gorgeous relic from 1922 complete with a Wurlitzer pipe organ to play your movie’s intro. Which means on a bad day, it’s great, and on an infamous singalong day it’s simply next level awesome. This month is Moana, the story of a courageous islander girl who sets off to save her people, and find herself. Singalongs at the Castro Theater are tons of fun, and if you’re worried about the lyrics they’ve got you covered. All songs are on the screen karaoke style. The movie is beautiful, touching, funny, and will have you singing How Far I’ll Go on your way out the theater. Just be careful...you are in the Castro and those words could be taken a slightly different way. ;-) Tix are $16 and totally worth it.
