Teotihuacan: City of Water, City of Fire is a very special exhibit at the deYoung Art Museum, and every Wednesday in October it’s free! The exhibit shows how art can be used to understand this ancient city’s urban environment. Teotihuacan is one of the earliest, largest, and most important cities in the realm of ancient Americas. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage site, and so many people check it out that it stands as the most visited archaeological site in all of Mexico. This special exhibition is done in collaboration with Mexico’s Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH). Thanks to major loans from various Mexican and US providers, you can see important historical objects from Teotihuacan’s three pyramids that hold ritual significance. Plus different mural paintings, ceramics, and stone sculptures from the regular living area of the city. This is a unique and special chance for people in the Bay Area to experience a very important piece of Mexico’s culture. Don’t miss the captivating and mysterious ancient city of Teotihuacan. Meet Ryan at the hostel at 10am to go as a group. Photo courtesy of the deYoung Museum https://deyoung.famsf.org/exhibitions/teotihuacan-city-water-city-fire
