The Mission is one of our most favorite SF neighborhoods, and after spending a few hours there with us it will probably be one of yours too. Between the food, the art, the cool stores, and general awesome vibe you can’t go wrong. Burritos have become famous around the world but it’s a well known secret that the Mission style burrito started in a mom and pop taqueria in, you guessed it, the Mission. We’ll be grabbing some as we explore the streets around us. San Francisco is full of street art nearly everywhere you look, but the Mission neighborhood is without question the apex of SF’s collection. It has entire alleys that are painted top to bottom, from one end to the other with riveting visuals of city happenings, the changing climate, and political protest. The Mission also has San Francisco’s largest mural. At some point that wandering may take us into a thrift store (or three) where we can make someone else’s trash our treasure. There are really amazing finds in our thrift stores, so grab a few bucks and come join us. We'll also be heading next door to the smaller but just as fun Castro, affectionately known as the gayborhood. Full of history and always busting with fun, it's not to be missed!
