Date:
Friday 10 May 2019
Meeting time:
6 p.m.
Meeting Place:
PROXY SF
432 Octavia St
San Francisco, CA 94102
Additional instructions:
Pacific Tradewinds guests, meet in the hostel common room at 5 p.m. and we will go over together! Bring $5.50 for roundtrip bus fare and any extra cash if you want to buy beer or anything else. Remember to wear a jacket! The outdoor movie theatre doesn't have chairs, so ask reception for a blanket to bring to sit on.
You've probably been to or at least heard of a drive-in movie theatre. But have you ever experienced a walk-in movie theatre? PROXY SF is a hub that combines art, food, and music. The Hayes Valley space hosts many events and shows throughout the year, and yes - they have a walk-in movie theatre. And and it's outdoors! This Friday, bring your blanket or sleeping bag to hang out and exprerience an outdoor showing of "Matangi/Maya/M.I.A.," the documentary about Sri Lankan rapper and activist M.I.A. There will also be beers for sale from Fort Point Beer Company and pizza from Del Popolo. You can come as early as 6 p.m. to stake out your spot and start eating and drinking, but the film doesn't start until 7:45. It runs for about an hour and 40 minutes, so it will end around 9:30, and you'll be within walking distance to all the bars and restaurants in San Francisco's Hayes Valley and Mission districts to end your Friday night with a bang. This event is FREE, but RSVP at the link below so they can get a head count.
