We know San Francisco is deceivingly cold. Even though you would think a summer in California would be warm, our summers are often so cold and foggy you find yourself wishing you'd packed an extra pair of pants and all you want to do is curl up next to a campfire. Luckily, we have lots of amazing free events all year-round to make up for our sometimes less than ideal weather. And one of them involves a campfire! Every Thursday evening, the popular food truck event Off The Grid puts on a campfire party with fire pits, DJ music, fun games like cornhole, and lots of international food trucks serving everything from Celtic-American cuisine to Asian Fusion. Bring a blanket to sit on, a bank card to purchase drinks or food, and make sure to wear layers! Even with the campfires, it can get chilly! The event starts at 5 p.m. and goes until 9. Come as early as possible if you want ti snag a spot in one of their awesome lantern-lit communal lawn domes. People show up at 2 p.m. sometimes to make sure they have a spot. Not sure what a "lantern-lit lawn dome" is? Guess you'll have to go see for yourself!
