Date:
Friday 06 Dec 2019
Meeting time:
10 a.m.
Meeting Place:
BlackRock SF
400 Howard St
San Francisco, CA 94105
Additional instructions:
Pacific Tradewinds guests, meet in the common room at 9:30 a.m. and we will make signs and walk down to the protest site together!
Swedish high school student Greta Thunberg started a worldwide revolution when she started skipping school to rally in the streets for climate change. Inspired by Greta's actions, millions of high school students all over the world have started taking to the streets with signs to show their concern for what's happening to our planet. Now, people of all ages have been inspired to do the same. Regardless of how old you are, join San Francisco in rallying this Friday in downtown San Francisco. The rally will meet at 10 a.m. in front of the BlackRock building on Howard Street. Be prepared for big crowds and an intense day! Also, remember that striking is important, but it is even more important to do your part every day to try to do your part in reversing climate change. Avoid using single-use shampoo and lotion containers when you travel, and instead purchase travel sized reusable containers. Or ask the receptionist to show you the bucket of shampoo and conditioner etc. that was left behind that you can use. Bring a reusuable aluminum water bottle with you on all your trips and stop buying plastic ones. If you're a coffee drinker, purchase an aluminum portable mug for $10 or less and ask coffee shops to fill that up instead of giving you a paper or plastic one. Or fill it up yourself with our FREE coffee or tea we have available to our guests at all hours of the day. :)
