Every Valentine’s Day for more than a decade, the most beautiful and strange display of love takes place right here in San Francisco. Why, we're talking about an enormous pillow fight, of course! How else do you show your love other than smacking your partner, closest friends, or wonderful strangers across the head with a fluffy pillow? This is somewhat of an unofficial event, since it's not sanctioned by the city of San Francisco and no longer planned by anyone. However, like Santa Con and all the many other quirky permit-less events before it, if 1,000 people show up in Embarcadero Plaza with pillows on Valentine's Day and want to have a pillow fight - well, there's gonna be a freakin' pillow fight. If you are considering sneaking your dorm bed pillow away to this event, just let us know instead. We have lots of old pillows we’d rather give you.
