We know, we know. You think you are too cool for museums. You probably also lived with a shaman in Nepal instead of backpacked Europe. Traveler hierarchy aside, this is one museum you are not to miss. Not only does it have some awesome exhibits inside, like an earthquake simulator (I know, right??), every Thursday night the museum gets down. Nightlife at the California Academy of Sciences means exhibits + booze + live music. This month’s theme highlights Women in Science (holla ladies), and this week’s theme is showing off Bay Area women in particular. One preview of awesome: there will be a nighttime dive show in the Philippine Coral Reef tank. Nightlife runs 6-10pm; join hostel volunteer Meike at 5pm to go with the group.
