Visit the Galeria de La Raza in 24th Street (Bryant) of San Francisco as they present their new display of Mundo Maya 12:12:12: A Celebration of the Mayan Culture & Calendar, featuring works by the Latino/Mayan youth in cooperation with artist Roberto Y. Hernandez. Witness one of the main events of the gallery, free to the public -- the concluding ceremony of the Mayan Calendar from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, December 21. While most people fear the ticking life span of the world will come to an end according to the Mayan beliefs, let us be aware first of their calendar, gods, animals, cultural heritage, and their relationship with the community, environment and spirituality.
