San Francisco may have pulled your attention to come visit from across the country or across the world, but a visit to the Bay Area would not be complete without checking out Oakland. Located just across the water from us, even closer than some other parts of SF, Oakland is a thriving city with a culture and vibe all its own. One of the best ways you can experience this is through “First Fridays," happening the first Friday of every month. (Go figure). First Fridays is an incredibly vibrant and immersive experience that combines lots of art, live music, local food, performers, artists, and more. There will be food for sale, artwork to admire, art projects you can participate in, and live music and other performances you can enjoy. It's basically a massive monthly block party. Running from 5-9, the event is located on Telegraph Avenue and 27th Street. Party in the streets and see some great art!
