San Francisco is surrounded on three sides by water. It can be easy to forget with so much happening in the middle, from interesting architecture to wild events. But you’d be missing out big time to skip the beauty of the Bay! SF is also not a very big city geographically, measuring just 7x7 miles, so walking along the water and seeing quite a bit is a doable excursion. The hostel sits just a few blocks inland from the famous Ferry Building, a great place to start your walk. Head North (the water on your right hand side) to meander along rustic peers until you hit the tourist central of Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf. If you want to escape the hordes of tourists after you’ve seen the adorable sea lions, keep walking until you reach beautiful Crissy Field. It’s the perfect spot for a grassy picnic right next to the beach with perfect views of Golden Gate Bridge. Have fun!
