So yeah, you've probably noticed that there's a gigantic Christmas tree in Union Square these days. The tree is about to be joined by an equally gigantic menorah! In honor of the first night on Hanukkah, an eight-day Jewish holiday which begins tonight at sundown, the first candle on the menorah will be lit around 16:30. There will be singing and other musical performances. The candle-lighting ceremony will take place every night on Hanukkah at 17:00 for the remaining 8 days of the holiday. (Except for the 27th, when it starts at 15:00, and the 28th, when it starts at 20:00.) And now you can tell your friends back home you've seen a 25 foot tall menorah!
