Welcome the Lunar New Year  with the mini procession and ribbon cutting ceremony sponsored by the Southwest Airlines on February 2, Saturday. There will be a small parade by 10:30am from St. Mary's Square joining the snake parade down Grant Avenue and then to the main stage of Flower Fairs on Washington Street. Followed by the festivities opening with ribbon cutting ceremony by the city Mayor and its officials. Experience a grand New Year celebration of the East as they shooed bad luck away with their famous Chinese Lion dance, Giant puppets in Chinese costume and replica of the Chinese gods and goddesses. Plenty of vending stalls at the annual Flower Fairs for food, plants, flowers, fruits and good luck goodies to bring home with you for a prosperous new year ahead. Click for event details.
