You’ve heard of Summer of Love, the hippies of Haight, and all things flowers in your hair, right? Well, turns out there is a LOT more to Haight Ashbury, the infamous hippie ‘hood of SF, than the cliches that have circled for years. This neighborhood has a fascinating history of everything from rock & roll legends in alliances with Hells Angels to the shocking (at the time) ideology of giving away nearly everything for free. So it make sense that one of our favorite tours of Haight Ashbury is also FREE*! Wild SF Walking Tours is an epic, SF born, social activist tour company that will blow your mind as you learn about the history of our eclectic city. They offer several paid tours, but keep a few ‘pay as you wish’ to ensure everyone has the chance to experience the magic.   *Yes, this is technically free, but don’t be a jerk. Paid tours start at $25, so please throw your guide at least a few bucks minimum to help them keep this program running. (Suggestion donation is $10-15). Travel karma is real! Meet Kat in the hostel at 12:30pm to head out; tour starts at 1:30pm
