Spectators gather in Bryant Street on September 30 (moved from March 18) to witness a race like no other. Grand Prix de la Mayonnaise is an extraordinary race by the extraordinary and most innovative K-12 school in Bay Area, Brightworks. Each sponsored team was given a tool kit to build their own hybrid electric/human-power vehicles. All vehicles must be durable and reliable enough to withstand the competition. This is the most exciting charity event of the year so grab your VIP or Grandstand ticket; however for track-side viewing only, they will collect a donation of $5 before the race or $10 on the day of the race. Follow the schedule of the race: 10am for testing and tuning of vehicles 12pm start of the race 4:30 Awards ceremony All-day Pedal-Powered Stage performance from the San Francisco Rock Project House Band All-day Pedal-Powered Ice Cream, foods and fun activities. Winners will take home the spectacular Coupe de la Mayonnaise. Prizes also available for the category of most beautiful design, crash-of-the-day and best-dressed team to be judged by the students of Brightworks.
