Visit Shattuck Ave. between Rose and Vine Streets in Berkeley for the Dia de los Muertos Celebration year 4 on November 2 to commemorate the souls of your dearly departed. Dress up in costume and big ghoulish heads made of paper or have your face done with free skeletal face painting. Community members bring their photos, flowers, candles, food or stories in the Community Altar from 5 to 9pm, will be blessed by the Aztec Dancers, Cuatli Mitotiana Mexica with their drums and lead an hour of candle light procession along a the marigold petal paths.
