Watch the traditional New Year's Celebration of Japanese, O-mochitsuki (rice pounding) at Asian Art Museum to be led by Kagami Kai group. A colorful and dramatic ceremony using large wooden hammers to mash Japanese rice into a paste and mold it into sweet mochi cakes, a traditional food to welcome the New Year with traditional dance and performances in costumes.
