September is officially Middle Eastern Heritage Month and the San Francisco Public Library has an extensive program to celebrate. This month recognizes the many diverse histories, cultures, and traditions from the Middle East and incorporates various programs to bring these to the people of SF. Wednesday Sept. 27th will be at the Bernal Heights Branch and include a special performance, craft stations, and refreshments. Other days at other branches allow even more offerings, such as learning about the “cradle of civilization” from Dr. Abdul Jabbar, or tasting Egyptian street food, or checking out Arabic dance performances by Heaven Mousalem. The events are all ages, with plenty going on to stay entertained. Meet Nashwa in the hostel 5:30pm to head out together.
