If you've ever heard of San Francisco's Haight & Ashbury District, chances are you immediately associate it with tie-dye, flowers, and other icons of the "hippie" movement. While the Haight has changed over the past several decades, it's still a great place to go thrift shopping, browse records at Amoeba Records, catch a comedy show, get a tattoo if you're feeling it, or spend an afternoon hanging out at the nearby portion of Golden Gate Park affectionately known as "Hippie Hill." Plus, once a year, they have a FREE street fair! Starting at 11 a.m. and running 5:30 p.m., the Haight-Ashbury Street Fair features live bands and more than 200 vendors selling everything from food to locally-made clothing. Spend your Sunday exploring a great neighborhood by attending a free street fair. Why not?!
